Hurricane Designed Roof System
When wind hits the side of a building, it creates an updraft. When it meets the horizonal airstream, the updraft violently tumbles, creating a horizontal vortex like a tornado at the perimeter of the windward side of the building. Theis wind vortex creates a negative pressure "vacuum" that can tear off the roof assemblies.

With System 2001 patented air-seal substrate design, wind generated vacuum pressures pull air and moisture from under the roof membrane, up through and out strategically placed equalizer valves. a suction is created, pulling the roof membrane tight against the substrate.
Superior Wind Uplift Resistance:
Roofs installed with this technology have a wind uplift advantage. The negative wind uplift pressures are transferred through the roof membrane to the sealed substrate structure below. The whole roof assembly can better withstand wind forces when wind uplift negative pressures are transferred to the substrate and structure. The more the wind intensifies, the harder the roof assembly is vacuumed to the substrate.
Minimal Fastening:
2001 Company Roofing Systems can be installed with up to 90% less fasteners on most installations compared to other manufacturer’s roof systems. In addition, a series of fasteners in a concrete, lightweight gypsum, or Tectum deck can create fracture lines and reduce the decks live and dead load capacity weakening the structure. Thousand of holes in a steel deck can also weaken the deck and create opportunities for water to penetrate a facility.
No Tear-Off Required:
Roofs that have become wet from leakage and have no apparent structural damage can be saved. The old roof assembly can be re-roofed without a tear-off. Because we create a low pressure scenario within our roof assembly, water trapped in the old roof assembly is vented out through our patented Equalizer Valves. In most cases, a saturated roof system can be dried out within the first few years of installation.
Tried and Proven Track Record:
2001 Company is the originator of Negative Pressure Roofing Systems. We hold over 25 patents with many pending relating to roof installation and application techniques. Our systems have been installed since 1979 with over 9,000 installations worldwide. In over 20 years of installations, 2001 Company has had roof systems subjected to hurricane and tropical storm force winds and have never had a roof blow-off. We have even had a roof system withstand an F-4 tornado.
Versatility Of Membranes:
2001 Company, Inc. offers roof systems with our technology utilizing, C-EPDM, Thermoplastics (CPA, PVC, TPO), Modified Bitumen, Asphalt Built-up, and Coal Tar roofing systems.
Up to 200 MPH Wind Guaranty Protection Available:
2001 Company, on 22 gauge metal roof decks, can write a wind warranty for 80 MPH. On monolithic, concrete, or lightweight type roof decks that are structurally superior to a 22 gauge metal deck, we write wind protection warranties from 100 MPH to 150 MPH. On coastal buildings that have a proper structural design like a poured in place structural concrete deck, we can issue a 200 MPH wind warranty. In addition, we offer a roof system for application over 22 gauge steel deck that is capable of achieving uplift forces up to 225 Pounds Per Square Foot.
Asbestos Encapsulation:
We have encapsulated existing asbestos roof assemblies with this process. 2001 Company Roof Systems does not necessitate fasteners through the asbestos roofing materials. If the underside of the deck has been sprayed with asbestos fireproofing, 2001 Company Roof Systems can be utilized because we have systems that do not require fasteners to penetrate the roof deck into the asbestos fireproofing.
Low Cost of Installation:
The multiple benefits of the 2001 Company Roofing application technique provide many advantages both in lower installation costs and long-term durability.
Superior Seaming Techniques:
2001 Company began utilizing seam tapes with our C-EPDM systems over 20 years ago when most manufacturers were enduring years of seam failures with splice cements. Our Talc Eater used in our seam priming actually vulcanizes the seam areas causing them to become stronger as the roof ages.
The 2001 Company Roof System Is Not A Proprietary Product:
2001 Company has licensed other single ply manufacturers to utilize our patented technology.
National Account Program:
2001 Company, Inc.’s National Account Program is tailored to each of their individual customers. It offers one point of contact for all your roofing assets nationwide. Offering inspections, evaluations, written reports, computerized drawings, detailed photographic documentation, specification preparation and construction management of your roofing projects, our program puts a qualified roofing professional on your team working for you to insure your money is spent wisely.
