Green roofs or garden roofs are just like putting a garden or park on top of your roof. Typically, green roofs are made up of a few layers, generally beginning with a root barrier that goes on top of your roof system. This is followed by some form drainage, then a filtration system. Then comes the dirt, or “medium”, followed by the plants/vegetation that are chosen.
Green roofs have many benefits, some of which you may have already heard of, like energy savings and LEED points.
